The short version

Orb runs entirely on your device. Nothing leaves it.
No accounts, no sign-up, no tracking.
No analytics, crash reporting, or third-party SDKs.
Your conversations, documents, and voice recordings stay on your phone.

Data we collect

None. Orb does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All processing including AI inference, speech transcription, and document analysis happens locally on your device using on-device models.

Network usage

Orb requires an internet connection only once: to download the AI model files on first launch. These files are downloaded from Hugging Face, a public model repository. No user data is sent during this download.

After the initial download, the app functions entirely offline. No network requests are made during normal use.

Permissions

Orb requests the following permissions, all used solely for on-device functionality:

Camera: to let you photograph documents or images for analysis
Microphone: to transcribe voice messages locally using an on-device model
Storage: to read files you choose to share with the assistant

Third parties

Orb does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing services. No data is shared with any third party for any purpose.

Children's privacy

Orb is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app's release notes.
